When making the header for this blog I sketched over the image of a dandelion head (bottom left) several times, attempting to accentuate different properties each time. Below are some of those sketches. It's interesting to me looking at them now to see which depicts the "real" dandelion, what aspects say that this is a dandelion head rather than a palm tree for instance? How many and which features could you remove without losing an understanding of the seed head itself?
